Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates that launched flights to Cyprus only five months ago, is on target to increase its frequency by adding a fourth flight from Abu Dhabi in 2010, subject to securing aircraft availability.
Country Manager Lorna Dalziel said that the airline recently got approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to increase its operations to daily flights, “something we hope to do some day soon. For now we are adding a fourth flight as we have met all our targets set when we first started in Cyprus.”
Dalziel said that 15% of its clientele is for business, while its most popular destinations are China for business and exhibitions, and Australia, mostly for leisure and holidays.
She said that Etihad’s strongest points are the arrival time of just after 8pm in Abu Dhabi, value-added products such as the limousine service to Dubai and its growing network of destinations.
