AB Insurance Cyprus Agency Ltd announced it has introduced used car warranties to Cyprus which are set to offer second hand car buyers a written contract that protects their purchase. 

Until now, used car buyers in Cyprus have been largely unprotected but the EU directive of 1999 that covers consumer rights will soon be implemented on the island.
AB Insurance is introducing these warranties in conjunction with AutoProtect – the fastest growing mechanical warranty and insurance solutions provider in the UK – as their underwriter.
The warranties, which are included in the purchase price of the car, offer buyers the same rights and cover as offered with a new vehicle with a choice of one or two years. Dealers offering these warranties will clearly display an AutoProtect sign on their cars.
In the event that something goes wrong with the car, the consumer calls the warranty call centre who will direct them to the nearest participating garage for the repairs, usually the main dealer. In the event of a break down, normal car insurance provides a towing service to the participating garage.
