Larnaca-based carrier, Cyprus Airways announced a new baggage charge policy, effective only for Basic fare tickets booked in December to travel from 29 March 2020 onward.

It said the changes “allow for a simpler baggage structure that best caters to the differing needs of passengers, providing greater flexibility”.

The company also announced that its basic fares will be reduced by €10 during this period.

Passengers holding a basic fare ticket are allowed a small personal item (handbag or laptop or back-pack), which they can place under the seat in front of them.

“Customers can customise their travel experience based on their needs. The option of adding a 10 kg checked baggage is available through all sales channels at the low price of €10,” said Cyprus Airways.

For Flex fare ticket holders, the baggage allowance remains as it is, i.e. 23kg checked luggage, 10kg cabin bag and a small personal item.

Passengers must ensure that the fare type they buy meets all their baggage needs while the company’s advice is to further explore flex option for carefree experience and maximum flexibility.
